Take the Tourist Train
The Flamselvi river flows in a more or less rapid flow, in the middle of a green valley and a few houses with colored roofs, scattered on the banks. Waterfalls tumbling down steep slopes. From the tourist train that connects Flam and Myrdal and climbs to more than 860 meters above sea level, the views follow one another, each as extraordinary as the next. Thanks to a second train, it is possible to reach the charming town of Voss along spectacular scenery, on the edge of precipices and high waterfalls. Enough to take some unforgettable photos.
Discover the Geiranger Fjord
Listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005, the Geiranger Fjord is one of the most famous in Norway. To walk in this fjord is to treat yourself to a moment in total harmony with nature which, if it is impressive, nevertheless provides a comforting serenity. Some of the waterfalls that end their frantic course in the Geiranger fjord are also among the best known in the region, such as the waterfalls of the Seven Sisters, the Suitor or the Veil of the Bride.
Kayaking the Naeroyfjord
The Naeroyfjord is one of the fjords in Norway listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admiring its beauty from its waters during a kayak trip remains a privileged experience. The impressive mountains that border it, the waterfalls and the rivers that flow into it create breathtaking perspectives and contribute to its splendour.
Hiking near the Briksdal Glacier
A cruise in Norway is an opportunity to discover unique natural wonders in the world. Part of the Jostedal, the largest glacier in Europe, the Briksdal glacier contributes to the enchantment caused by the scenery of the Norwegian fjords. Descending 1,200 meters in altitude, the ice advances in the valley with all its shades of white and blue and its steep reliefs. A 3 km hike allows you to admire all its beauty and extent.
Navigate the Lysefjorden
Lysefjorden is known by all adventurers. The most enduring climb the 4,444 steps of the Flørli wooden staircase. The more adventurous have their picture taken at Kjerag, known for its rock wedged between two rock walls. Others prefer to approach as close as possible to the edge of Preikestolen, 600 meters high. But from its crystal clear waters, the Lysefjorden is just as impressive. Cliffs, waterfalls and green mountains fascinate.
Walking in Alesund
The city juts out over the water and seems to blend into the hills on the horizon. On the west coast of Norway, Alesund presents a pleasant face, between cobbled streets, canals and Art Nouveau buildings. The ornaments and the painting of the facades give all its particularity to the city which was devastated by a fire in 1904 and rebuilt according to the rules of "Jugendstil", an architectural genre unique in the world.
Visit the Bryggen district of Bergen
It may well be the second city of Norway, Bergen, keeps, in the imagination, airs of medieval village of the North. It is because the images of the wooden houses with their colorful facades Bryggen, facing the port, mark the spirits. This district, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, has marked the history of the country, and even more so, of the North Sea. From the 14th century, the port joined the Hanseatic League set up by the Germans through trading posts in the region and as far as the Baltic Sea. At the time, the Bryggen district was exclusively reserved for German merchants. Today, it would be a shame to miss this charming town before setting off for the fjords.
